AUSTIN -- One man was killed Sunday after a pin-in collision on Capital of Texas Highway, Austin-Travis County EMS reported.
ATCEMS said one patient, a male estimated to be in his 60s, was pronounced dead on scene. The collision occurred around 2:38 p.m. near northbound Loop 360 and Pascal Lane.
Based on witness reports, officials believe the crash may have been caused due to a medical issue or he may have fallen asleep at the wheel. Reports indicate the driver of the gold sedan did not show any signs of slowing as he left the roadway, striking a metal light post. A crew will be working to fix the light post by night time, police said.
Officials said to expect delays and road closures and to watch for investigators working in the area.
