ATCEMS, Austin Fire Department respond to pin-in collision on North SH 130 southbound

A man was pinned in his vehicle. First responders reported to the scene, and the extrication lasted approximately 45 minutes.

AUSTIN — Austin-Travis County EMS (ATCEMS) and the Austin Fire Department responded to a pin-in collision involving multiple vehicles at 11000 North SH 130 southbound on Tuesday.

A man was pinned in his vehicle. First responders reported to the scene, and the extrication lasted approximately 45 minutes.

The man was transported via a STAR Flight helicopter to Dell Seton Medical Center with serious, potentially life-threatening injuries.

A second patient, a man in his 40s, was also transported to Dell Seton via ATCEMS ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.

Austin police said Highway 45 to 130 southbound lanes are closed as of 4:47 p.m. Northbound lanes are open. Drivers are encouraged to find an alternate route if possible.
