AUSTIN — Austin's economy has been named the fastest-growing in the country among large metro areas.

This is according to a new report from the Bureau of Economic Analysis that bases their results on inflation-adjusted gross domestic product, according to KVUE's media partners at the Austin American-Statesman.

Austin's economy grew nearly 7 percent last year. That's three times the average rate of growth for cities in the United States. Unemployment rates in Austin are also the lowest they've been since the late 1990s.
