'Endangered missing alert' for elderly Austin man discontinued

Austin PD was searching for 80-year-old Alfredo Gonzales.

AUSTIN, Texas — An endangered missing persons alert for an elderly Austin man has now been discontinued, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Austin police were searching for 80-year-old Alfredo Gonzales. The department tweeted Monday that Gonzales had been found safe.

Prior to being located, Gonzales was last seen at 8 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 22, at 207 W. Odell Street wearing a blue striped shirt and blue jeans walking with a red walker.

Law enforcement officials believed Gonzales' disappearance poses a credible threat to his own health and safety.
