Crews battle 100-plus-acre brush fire in northwest Travis County

There have been no evacuations and no structures are threatened, AFD said.

TRAVIS COUNTY, Texas -- Travis County crews battled a brush fire Wednesday afternoon, according to Austin Fire officials.

The fire burned near 6724 Singleton Bend, according to AFD. Officials reported at 4:45 p.m. that the fire surpassed 100 acres and was 98 percent contained

The fire was in a lot of heavy brush and cedar trees, according to ESD 1. Five agencies and 22 units responded. STAR Flight assisted by dropping water on the fire.

There have been no evacuations and no structures are threatened, AFD said.

The Division Chief TCESD #1 said a firefighter suffered a minor arm injury while pulling a hose line. They were taken to Cedar Park Hospital as a precaution.
