Austin-Travis County EMS responded to a land rescue in South Austin Saturday.
A tweet from @ATCEMS read that it happened around 10:30 a.m., on the 700 block of Azie Morton Road.
Initial reports stated that the person was experiencing an unknown medical issue, and was receiving CPR.
Around 11:15 a.m., officials tweeted that crews were preparing the patient to be moved from the Greenbelt trail. Resuscitative efforts were still in progress.
The patient was extracted around 11:30 a.m., according to @ATCEMS. Austin Fire began preparing the patient to be transported from the scene, but there was no change in the patients condition.
A final update was tweeted out by officials around 11:45 a.m. A man, in his 40's, was transported to the hospital in life-threatening condition. Crews performed resuscitative efforts for more than 40 minutes.
