Missing brothers found safe in Austin after reportedly running away

Police said the brothers, 13 and 9, were found safe in northwest Austin.

AUSTIN — UDPATE: The Austin Police Department reported around 10:30 p.m. Sunday that the boys were found safe in northwest Austin and were being reunited with their family.

ORIGINAL STORY: The Austin Police Department is seeking the public's help in locating two brothers who reportedly ran away from their home in northwest Austin on Sunday.

The police department said Joseph Afar, 13, and his 9-year-old brother, Abraham, were last seen around 11:30 a.m. on Sunday on the 11000 block of Scotland Wells.

Joseph is described as a white male, 5 feet tall, 80 pounds with brown hair and eyes. He was last seen wearing a black-and-purple striped shirt and black Adidas.

Abraham is described as a white male, 4 feet 9 inches tall, 65 pounds with brown hair and eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue-and-white striped shirt and orange shorts.

Police said they were known to frequent video game shops.
