Atmos Energy crews set up temporary gas service to New Hope Manor so staff could cook and care for their elderly residents while a nearby gas leak was repaired.

CEDAR PARK, Texas -- Traffic is being diverted at a Cedar Park road due to a gas leak Wednesday afternoon.

According to a Cedar Park spokesperson, a third-party contractor not affiliated with Atmos Energey nicked a six-inch gas line, causing a gas leak. The incident happened just before 2 p.m., and officials said it may take several hours to repair.

Westbound lanes on New Hope Drive have been closed and authorities are asking drivers to avoid the area while they make repairs.

No one was hurt and no evacuations have been ordered.
