Two key traffic projects in Austin making headway

Crews are making significant headway on two Austin traffic projects.

AUSTIN — Two key traffic construction projects in Austin are making significant headway.

The KVUE Defenders reported in June that MoPac Expressway's sound walls needed replacing after inspectors found cracks. The Defenders uncovered the MoPac Improvement Project that should have ended two years ago likely won't be done until the end of the year. And the woman who spearheaded part of the effort isn't happy with the end result.

Defenders: Not much improvement on MoPac Improvement Project

This week, crews are reinstalling the final panels of the sound walls.

New video from the Mobility Authority also shows progress along U.S. 183 in Austin. The project, which is on schedule, will add toll lanes to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.
