VIDEO: SUV reportedly crashes into special needs school bus in Cedar Park before taking off

Authorities in Williamson County are investigating following an alleged hit-and-run involving a school bus.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas — Authorities are investigating after a vehicle hit a special needs school bus in the Cedar Park area before leaving the scene Monday, according to the Williamson County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities said the crash happened Monday shortly after 8 a.m. in the 1800 block of Hatch Road in the Cedar park area near Salido Parkway. The Leander Independent School District bus was loading a passenger when it was side-swiped. The sheriff's office said the bus was loaded, but Leander ISD told KVUE there were two students and two adults on the bus when the crash happened.

The "school bus was equipped with a forward facing video camera, so to the vehicle that fled the scene, the Williamson County Sheriff’s Traffic Unit will be investigating this and YOU WILL BE CAUGHT," the sheriff's office said in a tweet.

No injuries have been reported in the crash.

Drivers are asked to be careful in the area.
