Paul Goldschmidt to reportedly ink 5-year extension with St. Louis Cardinals

The five-year contract would be for $130 million.

ST. LOUIS — Former Texas State Bobcat baseball star Paul Goldschmidt may soon become the highest paid player in St. Louis Cardinals history.

According to multiple reports, Goldschmidt is finalizing a five-year, $130 million contract with the Cardinals.

Goldschmidt, 31, has been an All-Star the past six seasons. 

The first baseman was traded from the Arizona Diamondbacks to St. Louis back in December 2018.
