AUSTIN — A 17-year-old was killed after crossing into the path of a vehicle on Parmer Lane Friday. On Wednesday, he was identified as Minh-Tan Pham.

Based on preliminary investigation, police said Pham was biking northbound on Yager Lane when he failed to obey stop and yield signs, continuing across the 1600 block of East Parmer Lane. As he began to enter the left lane of westbound traffic, which has a 60 mph speed limit, he was struck by a blue, 2012 Toyota Camry.

He was transported to St. David's Round Rock with critical, life-threatening injuries. He was pronounced dead on Saturday.

The Austin Police Department's watch commander said the driver involved in the crash stayed on the scene.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with more information is asked to call police at 512-974-3761.
