Four arrested, one dead after drug deal gone bad

A drug deal gone bad resulted in a man's death and four arrests after a SWAT standoff.

Three people are under arrest in connection to a man's death Thursday night in northeast Austin.

Williamson County SWAT arrested Savon Galloway, 22, and Christopher Hamilton, 19, after a standoff on the 9800 block of Copper Creek Drive, near U.S. 183 and Lake Creek Parkway Friday afternoon. Austin police arrested Akeem Bradford, 22, earlier Friday. All three were arrested on a Capital Murder charge. All are from the Chicago area.

Austin police also arrested Keon Walton, 19, on an unrelated charged of Assault with Injury/Family Violence.

Austin police said they received the shots fired call around 9:55 p.m. June 8, and that the call was from near East St. Elmo Road and South Pleasant Valley Boulevard. Police said they learned two vehicles left the scene after gunshots were heard.

According to a press release from the Austin Police Department, a friend drove Cutberto Moran-Ayala, 26, to 4509 E. Elmo Road Thursday night. Moran-Ayala had placed an advertisement on Craigslist to sell marijuana and Bradford contacted Moran-Ayala in response to the ad. While the two were in the parking lot conducting the transaction, Bradford got into the backseat of the vehicle with Moran-Ayala.

Galloway approached the vehicle, tapped on the driver's door then pulled out a handgun and fired into the vehicle. He reached into the vehicle with his gun and Moran-Ayala grabbed the pistol and wrestled it away from Galloway. Moran-Ayala then began shooting at Galloway from inside of the vehicle.

Hamilton, who was with Galloway and Bradford, returned fire as Moran-Alaya's friend drove the vehicle away. Moran-Ayala was shot multiple times. His friend drove him back to his home at 8038 Exchange Drive and called police.
