Police ID homicide victims found in wooded area

Austin police said the two bodies found in a wooded area of northwest Austin Thursday afternoon were homicide victims.

Austin police said the two bodies found in a wooded area of northwest Austin Thursday afternoon were homicide victims.

Police said officers found the bodies of Samuel Davila, 43, and Charlene Whipple, 39, were found in a tent in the 12400 block of North FM 620. Officers were dispatched to the area shortly before 5 p.m. Sept. 8 on a check welfare call in the wooded area. APD said Monday that both Davila and Whipple had family in the Austin area.

APD Homicide detectives are working the case, and no suspects have been identified as of Monday afternoon.
