Austin firefighters respond to reported dump truck fire on FM 973

A caller reported that fire from the dump truck could be spreading to large diesel tanks near the truck.

AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Fire Department (AFD) responded to a reported dump truck fire on Farm to Market Road 973 Friday morning.

AFD said shortly before 11 a.m. that firefighters were responding to a "hazmat taskforce" call at 2600 N. FM 973. A caller reported that a full-size dump truck was on fire and that the fire could be spreading to large diesel tanks next to the truck.

At exactly 11 a.m., AFD said the fire appeared to be out and the call had been reduced. There are no reports of any injuries.
