KYLE, Texas -- A man is in custody for allegedly murdering a woman in Kyle Saturday night, according the Kyle Police Department
Online records show that James Crag Keen, 49, of Kyle is in custody at the Hays County Jail on a charge of murder.
Kyle police received a call at 7:50 p.m. Saturday that someone inside a house on the 100 block of Grant Way was injured.
“Our officers arrived within a few minutes,” Kyle police chief Jeff Barnett said. “They saw an adult female laying in the front yard who appeared to be deceased.”
The victim is Erin Wright, 39, of Kyle.
Three children were in the home at the time. They are unharmed and as of Sunday morning, are with family members, according to KPD. Barnett said Wright is the mother of two children and Keen is the father of two children.
Neighbor Tim Searles says the children knocked on doors looking for help.
"They came to my door first, but by the time my roommate answered the door, the girls ran across the street to the next house," Searles said.
Police do not believe Wright and Keen were married but said they have information that the two lived together. Barnett said police received information about a domestic dispute that took place prior to the shooting.
Keen is being held on a $250,000 bond.
