AUSTIN, Texas — Children were among those injured in two major crashes that happened early Saturday morning in South Austin.
The first crash happened on Menchaca Road near West Slaughter Lane.
Austin-Travis County EMS said three children were among the seven people injured in that crash. One adult was taken to St. David's Medical Center with critical injuries. Another was taken to the hospital with serious injuries but is expected to be OK.
Two more adults were taken to a South Austin hospital with minor injuries. Of the three children, two had minor injuries. The third was taken to Dell Children's Medical Center with serious injuries but is expected to be OK.
Meanwhile four people, including two children, are in the hospital after a crash on Jones Road, near South Lamar Boulevard and East U.S. 290.
ATCEMS said STAR Flight was called in for one adult with critical injuries. They were flown to Dell Seton Medical Center. The other adult is also at Dell Seton Medical Center with critical injuries.
The two children were taken to Dell Children's Medical Center with serious injuries. They're expected to be OK.
