Williamson County Sheriff's Office mourns corrections officer who died on duty

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas — The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office is mourning the loss of a corrections officer who died while working in the county jail on Monday.

Corrections Officer Patricia “Patty” Jakubowski was on duty on Dec. 9 when she suffered a medical episode, the sheriff’s office said. 

Staff provided immediate medical care, and she was taken to Ascension Seton Williamson Hospital. On Tuesday, Dec. 10, Jakubowski died peacefully while surrounded by her family, the sheriff's office said.

She served with the WCSO for 17 years.

“Patty serviced in many roles with a quick smile, joyful attitude and infectious laugh. Along with her family and friends, we grieve the loss of a dedicated friend and coworker,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement on Wednesday.
