After fellow Mayor Pete Buttigieg dropped out of the race, it appears Austin Mayor Steve Adler has a new endorsement – former Vice President Joe Biden.
Mayor Adler announced his endorsement in an appearance on MSNBC on Monday.
"I’m going to endorse Vice President Biden in this race and I think it's time for the party to consolidate, and I’m excited with the Biden candidacy," Adler said. "There are nine house seats that I want to flip in my state in order to get democratic control. And I think that if Biden is the head of the ticket, we'll have a better chance to get that done."
Adler also said he endorses Biden "because of his heart, his experience and ability to bring the country together to heal."
