96-year-old makes her first concert George Strait's last

96-year-old making her first concert George Strait's last in North Texas
You could call her the queen of Joshua, Texas. "96 years old. I can't even believe it myself," Helen Horn said when asked her age. Then she giggled. She likes to laugh. And one glimpse inside her home makes it obvious she likes to look at George Strait -- and listen to him, too.

JOSHUA, Texas -- You could call her the queen of Joshua, Texas.

"96-years-old. I can't even believe it myself," Helen Horn said when asked her age. Then she giggled.

She likes to laugh. And one glimpse inside her home makes it obvious she likes to look at George Strait -- and listen to him, too.

"Oh, he's handsome!" she said. His music, "makes me want to dance, and I'm not even able to dance anymore!"

On her coffee table is a magazine with George Strait on the cover. His CD's are on her shelves. She reads about him, listens to him, and Saturday night, she's going to see him in person.

"Excitement!" she said, describing how she feels.

Horn has been a George Strait fan longer than her granddaughter, Jeana Temple, can remember.

"I knew if I bought tickets, I'd have to get her one, regardless," Jeana said.

"I'd never forgive her if she didn't!" Helen added.

It will be a family affair, with three generations of the family attending. And Helen's ready.

"You had your jeans starched, didn't you?" Jeana asked. Helen shook her head yes.

The 96-year-old said she couldn't pick just one of his songs as her favorite. And when asked what she loves so much about him?

"Well... How much time to I have?" she replied. "Everything!"

Jeana said her "Mamaw" is "very much an admirer of all things George Strait."

"He's a class act, he's been solid from the get go, and it's hard to find that these days," Jeana said.

It's very much a description of her Mamaw, who lived through the depression and raised children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Those great grandchildren are now also having children.

She'll use her cane to maneuver the steps inside AT&T Stadium and said she's only a little worried about her back hurting, but that it's worth it.

George Strait's final concert will be her first concert ever. In 96 years, she's never been to one.

"I just hope I can make it," she said with a laugh.

No doubt, George hopes so, too.
