Forecast: Nice morning temperatures this weekend, but feeling the heat for the afternoons

Here are the latest updates from the KVUE Weather Team.

AUSTIN, Texas — Happy Friday! Our weather pattern stays very consitent for this wekeend into early next week with comfortable mornings, but very warm afternoons. These big temperature swings from morning to afternoon are due to the very low humidity left behind our cold front from earlier in the week.

Saturday morning will begin in the mid 50s to mid 60s, but the afternoon will quickly warm into the low to mid 90s under a sunny sky. If you're heading to Texas vs. Mississippi State game at DKR we expect a kick off temperature of 92 degrees with a light north wind.

Sunday will be very similar with morning temperatures in the mid 60s with an afternoon high near 94. As high pressure builds over Texas, the afternoons get even hotter early next week with upper 90s possible both Monday and Tuesday. At this point, we could really go for some rain here in Central Texas, but by and large our forecast is completely dry. Our next small chance for rain arrives next Friday.

FRIDAY NIGHT:
Mostly clear and cool. North wind at 5 to 10 mph.
LOW: 65

SATURDAY:
Sunny and hot. North wind at 5 to 10 mph.
HIGH: 95

SATURDAY NIGHT:
Clear. Cool and comfortable. North wind at 5 mph.
LOW: 64

SEVEN-DAY FORECAST:

Cool mornings and hot afternoons through this weekend.
