Forecast: Sticky and foggy start to the workweek

Here are the latest updates from the KVUE Weather Team.

AUSTIN, Texas — It's a foggy and sticky start to the workweek with fairly widespread patchy to dense fog for Monday morning. The fog should lift at or around 9 a.m. and lead to a mostly sunny and very warm afternoon with highs near 90 degrees. While an isolated shower or storm can't be ruled out in the Coastal Plains, most areas remain dry for both Monday and Tuesday.

Rain chances will be on the rise as temperatures dip slightly throughout the workweek and into the weekend. Daily scattered rain chances begin Wednesday and linger through Sunday. Not everyone will see rain each day, but it'll be best to keep the umbrella nearby as we experience an unsettled weather pattern over the next six days.

While the severe weather threat is uncertain at this time, we will be monitoring the potential for excessive rainfall which could lead to minor flooding concerns later in the week. As of now, our highest rain chances are on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday at roughly 40%.

Looking ahead to the weekend, temperatures drop to seasonable averages in the lower 80s with scattered rain chances both days.
