AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Police Department is getting in on a new viral dance craze called the “Git Up” challenge.
The challenge comes from Blanco Brown song “The Git Up” featuring Lainey Wilson – another song in the trend of “Old Town Road” mixing hip-hop with country.
People from all over the world have been mimicking Brown’s dance moves from the music video and putting a twist of their own on it.
The dance challenge has taken over social media, especially on TikTok, with Brown sharing his favorites on Instagram.
Now, it turns out, police in Austin have got the moves! In a video posted to Officer Bino Cadenas’s Twitter page on Sunday, two officers bring that Texas spirit to the dance – all set with the beautiful Texas Capitol building in the background.
