AUSTIN, Texas — Get your friends and family together because Austin's Trail of Lights kicks off for its 55th year on Tuesday, Dec. 10!
The Austin Trail of Lights is one of Austin's largest events, gathering hundreds of thousands of visitors to Zilker Park every year. It will run nightly from Dec. 10 through Dec. 23 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Austin Trail of Lights was recently nominated to be one of USA Today's "Best Holiday Lights Displays." The results for the contest will be revealed on Dec. 13.
The trail consists of more than 60 displays, 2 million lights, food trucks, live music and holiday activities. You can check the trail's calendar to see what activities are happening each night.

Ticket prices vary for the experience you're in search of. However, general admission tickets are $5 and can be purchased online or in-person.
ZIP passes are $20, giving pass-holders an early 6 p.m. entry through an exclusive entrance. ZIP pass-holders also get to go into "ZIP Lounge" where you can have access to complimentary cookies, cocoa, seating and a heated washroom.
Platinum passes give you all the benefits of general admission and ZIP pass-holders along with valet parking, a concierge service, golf cart shuttle, a private bar with one drink ticket and one ride ticket to the Ferris wheel or carousel.
The Platinum pass can be bought individually at $80, $150 for a two-pack and $270 for a four-pack.

There are different ways to get to the festive event. If you plan on driving, parking passes are available for $15 in a closed-in lot at Zilker Park. The trail encourages those who choose this option to purchase your pass early, as they tend to sell out in advance.
Austin Trail of Lights also offers a shuttle pass that includes a general admission pass for $7. Pick-up locations will be at Republic Square and the Toney Burger Activity Center. You can find full details for the shuttle on their website.
