Construction continues on COTALAND's Palindrome roller coaster

The 51 mph infinity coaster is projected to open in 2025.

AUSTIN, Texas — A new roller coaster is one step closer to being complete in Austin.

On Wednesday, Circuit of the Americas (COTA) posted updated photos of its Palindrome coaster, which is currently under construction.

The 51 mph, 95-foot tall ride will be part of the COTALAND amusement park, which does not have a set completion date yet but will be located at the venue.

According to a COTALAND spokesperson, the Palindrome coaster will be the first Gerstlauer Infinity Coaster of its kind in the U.S. This type of ride allows passengers to travel forward and backward, with the possibility for launches, inversions and more.

The Palindrome will have two inversions and will hold 12 riders at a time.

While COTA hasn't said exactly when COTALAND will be finished, we do know the park is expected to offer more than 30 rides and cover more than 20 acres of land.

Other new rides will include the Circuit Breaker, the first Tilt Coaster of its kind in the country; the Sky Blazer, the only pendulum swing ride in Texas; and the Texas Wildcat, the only Scwarzkopf coaster not only in the U.S. but throughout the world.

Fans may not be able to visit COTALAND yet, but they can enjoy the upcoming Formula One U.S. Grand Prix at COTA, set for Oct. 18-20. The event will feature performances by Sting and Eminem.
