Heather Locklear Mourns Death of Dad Bill: 'The Love of My Life'

Heather Locklear Mourns Death of Dad Bill: 'The Love of My Life'

Heather Locklear is in mourning following the death of her father, Bill Locklear. He was 94.

The actress took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a snapshot of her dad alongside a heartfelt message of love and gratitude.

"The most brilliant man I have ever known," Heather, 62, captioned the tribute post. "The bar is oh so high."

The Melrose Place alum continued her post, writing, "The love of my life. The few the proud. I love you dad. RIP."

Heather's father was reportedly hospitalized in February and had been in ailing health, a source tellsPeople.

The actress last posted about her father on Instagram back in July 2019 when she commemorated his milestone 90th birthday with a sweet post celebrating the special occasion.

"Happy 90th Birthday to my hero," Heather captioned the post.

The sad news comes just a few months after it was announced that Heather is set to star in a reboot of one of her most iconic shows.

ET learned in April that a Melrose Place reboot is in the works at CBS Studios and will have Heather, Laura Leighton and Daphne Zuniga reprising their iconic TV characters. Heather will return as Amanda Woodward, Leighton is back as Sydney Andrews and Zuniga will reprise her role as Jo Reynolds.

The series -- created by Darren Star -- is currently in development and will be written and executive produced by Lauren Gussis.
