Maria Menounos is forever grateful for those who have helped her through the last six months.
On Friday, the former E! News host shared an Instagram video of herself in the hospital being fed by a friend just 24 hours she had undergone brain surgery.
Menounos, 39, was diagnosed with a meningioma brain tumor back in February, and in June had a seven-hour surgery to remove the tumor, which luckily was benign.
"This video was taken 24 hours after my brain surgery. I still can’t believe that you can eat and speak normally so soon after. It was hard to keep my eyes open bc i was seeing double at this point," she wrote alongside the clip.
"I’ve received so many messages from people saying that my story has helped them, and on my 6 month anniversary I wanted to share this so if you are about to go through this you can see with your own eyes what it can be like," Menounos continued. "Everyone is different...but if I can ease your fears a bit I would like to. Also want to stress the importance of friends! @alyssawallerce my best friend of 26 years was by my side for months and she fed me this first meal (broth)."
"It’s a journey and you need help so Don’t be afraid to ask for it. Forever grateful to Alyssa and all my amazing friends who helped me through this!" the One Tree Hill alum concluded.
Menounos has been vocal about her recovery and experience over the past several months. Meanwhile, her mother, Litsa, is battling Stage 4 cancer.
In an interview with Megyn Kelly in July, the TV host shared how she found out about her tumor and how her life changed after being diagnosed.
"I think that this was a gift, because I needed to change my life," Menounos told Kelly on Sunday Night With Megyn Kelly. "I needed to change the way I did everything."
Since then, she's stepped down from her post at E! News and has been taking the necessary time to recover.
