AUSTIN, Texas — Austin City Limits Festival's 2018 event brought in around $10 million more to the Austin economy compared to the previous year, the mayor announced April 29.
At a press conference Monday morning, Mayor Steve Adler announced that the 2018 ACL Festival contributed more than $264 million to the Austin economy.
"The world-renowned event brings people from around the globe," Adler said at the event.

Those people then spend money at Austin businesses, making the festival a major contributor to the economy, Mayor Adler said.
The 2018 festival raised more than $5 million for parks last year, which goes toward Austin-area parks and helps fix the wear and tear Zilker Park experiences during ACL Fest.
At the press conference, C3 Presents, the company behind ACL Fest, presented the City of Austin and the Austin Parks Foundation more than $5 million to use for programs and projects at Austin parks in 2019.
Since 2006, the festival has brought nearly $2 billion to the economy, which is the equivalent of creating or retaining 21,500 jobs in Austin, the economic impact revealed.
