AUSTIN, Texas — Just days before one of Austin's largest music festivals kicks off, a scheduled act has backed out.
On Tuesday, the Austin City Limits Music Festival (ACL) announced on social media that folk band Caamp will no longer perform during this year's event.
The band also posted to its Instagram story Tuesday night, stating in part, "Unfortunately we are not able to play due to unforeseen circumstances. We are sorry to all who made plans, and hope for your understanding."
Caamp was originally set to play during both Sundays of the festival, but the group was shifted to 4:20 p.m. on both Saturdays – Oct. 5 and 12 – after switching with Chappell Roan.
Is Chappell Roan still scheduled to perform at ACL?
Roan, an up-and-coming popstar from Missouri, was moved to Sunday, Oct. 6, and Sunday, Oct. 13, amid her recent rise in popularity. This summer, the singer brought one of the largest daytime crowds on record to Chicago's annual Lollapalooza festival, according to CNN.
But Caamp's announcement comes as fans wait to see if Roan will perform at ACL, after she recently canceled her appearances at the All Things Go festival in New York City and Washington, D.C.
"I feel pressures to prioritize a lot of things right now and I need a few days to prioritize my health," Roan posted to Instagram prior to that festival.
As of now, the "Midwestern Princess" is still set to perform at ACL. She most recently took the stage Tuesday in Tennessee.
