AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Police Department (APD) revealed crime statistics from the first weekend of the Austin City Limits (ACL) music festival.
According to the department, police responded to 225 calls over the course of the entire weekend. Of the 225 calls, 70 police reports were taken and two arrests were made.
Of the arrests made, one was for evading arrest on foot and the other was at someone's own request. The department received 44 theft calls, 42 of which were calls reporting that cell phones that had been stolen.
APD says the stats released only account for incidents that occurred within Zilker Park, and that the department's crime database is continuously updated. The department said it will provide numbers for weekend two once the festival ends.
