AUSTIN, Texas — Just hours before showtime, the Austin City Limits Festival announced that rapper Lil Uzi Vert canceled his performance in Austin Oct. 4.
At around 2 p.m. on the first day of the festival on Weekend One, the music festival announced via Twitter, "Unfortunately, Lil Uzi Vert has cancelled his #ACLFest appearance for today."
The rapper was scheduled to hit the Honda Stage at 6 p.m. Electronic artist Jai Wolf, who played earlier in the day at 2:30 p.m., played an encore set to replace Uzi's performance.

After the announcement was made, Jai Wolf tweeted to his fans that he would be playing a bonus set on the main stage and said, "SHOUT OUTS LIL UZI VERT."
The festival has not said why the rapper canceled. And although fans were disappointed, Uzi has reportedly gained a reputation for canceling concerts.
According to hotnewhiphop.com, the rapper canceled his Soundset Festival performances in 2017 and again in 2019. In July, Uzi canceled several festival dates in the UK and in Europe.
Fans were quick to acknowledge Uzi's track record on Twitter.
Twitter user @djmattmurdock said, "Gotta book more hip-hope next time guys... can't rely on Lil Uzi Vert."
