The event is free and family-friendly.

AUSTIN, Texas — 2025 is just around the corner, and the city of Austin and Visit Austin are already preparing for the fun night.

Third Eye Blind will headline their night of festivities on Dec. 31st at Auditorium Shores. The event is free and family-friendly.

The “Austin’s New Year” event will run from 7 p.m. until midnight. There will be food, drinks and, of course, a fireworks show at midnight to wave goodbye to 2024 and say hello to 2025.

Vendors will be announced in December and will include local food, non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks.

Paid parking will be available at the One Texas Center, the Palmer Event Center, RiverSouth Garage, City Hall Garage, or State Garage N.

CapMetro Rail service will operate late on Dec. 31, running until after 2 a.m. The last train will leave Downtown Station at 2:22 a.m. Meanwhile, bus routes will operate regular service and Night Owls will run from 10:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.

Road closures in and around the event will be in place on the day. Lady Bird Lake will also be closed from 10:30 p.m. until 1 a.m. for safety purposes. The area between the west edge of the South First Street bridge and the rail trestle bridge will be closed to all watercraft.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket or collapsible chair to relax in while enjoying food and drinks. Pets, outside alcohol, fireworks/sparklers and smoking materials are not allowed at the event.
