AUSTIN, Texas — Circuit of the Americas welcomes the public back this spring and summer to their weekly Bike Night.
On Tuesday evenings starting on March 10, people of any age can ride bicycles along the 3.4-mile course.
"It's mind-clearing and such a great way to be physically active," said Adam Bauman, the vice president of Ascension Seton, a new sponsor of the event.
Participants can bring their own bikes or rent a bike while at the track.
Due to this partnership, daily passes dropped to $5 per night. A season-long pass can be purchased for $75 and will include a T-shirt.
In years past, approximately 300 to 500 people participated every night.
Tim Prukop, the chief revenue officer at COTA, hopes lower prices will encourage more people to come out and get active.
Biking on this course also provides a traffic-free, stress-free environment for people of all ages and skill levels, Prukop said.
"People have the opportunity to feel the thrill of having a safe environment, no stress, no cars, and feel the air rushing down their helmets," Prukop said.
Representatives from Ascension Seton will teach participants about proper pre and post-recovery techniques they should practice during daily exercise.
Bauman hopes this event will encourage people to rethink how they care for their bodies in a fun and healthy way.
"Healthcare in Austin is no longer just about coming to a hospital when you don’t feel well. There are services about how do we keep you healthy and frankly avoid coming to our hospitals in the first place," he said.
After the ride, participants can stay after for food and drinks at COTA's Biergarten.
Bike Nights will be every Tuesday night starting at 6 p.m. until dusk, from March through June and September through October.
