AUSTIN, Texas — Austin's own Gary Clark Jr. will headline the free Longhorn City Limits concert ahead of the Texas Longhorns' game against Brigham Young University (BYU).
Live music will begin at 11 a.m., and Clark will hit the stage on the University of Texas at Austin's LBJ Lawn at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28. A supporting artist will be announced at a later date, according to Texas Athletics.
"When the Longhorn City Limits concept was born, Gary Clark Jr. was immediately an artist we identified as a perfect fit," said Chris Del Conte, UT's vice president and athletics director. "His accolades and influence on musicians across the industry are numerous, and we are so excited to welcome such an incredible artist and hometown legend to the Forty Acres. The LBJ Lawn will be the place to be on October 28."
To date, Clark has six Grammy Award nominations and four wins. He has topped bills at festivals and major venues, shared the stage with The Rolling Stones, performed at the White House and played on numerous national TV shows. He is currently working on a follow-up to his most recent album, 2019's "This Land."
This year's Longhorn City Limits concert series is presented by Still Austin Whiskey Co. The distillery will have the Still Austin Music Lounge set up every home gameday to offer fans 21 years old and older a full menu of drinks, including the Still Austin Horns Up Bourbon Lemonade on ice. Fans will also have the opportunity to get limited-edition swag curated by Still Austin.
Tito's Tailgate will also return for a second consecutive season, located in front of the LBJ Fountain. The location will offer Tito's cocktails on tap.
Longhorn City Limits attendees can also enjoy Stubb's BBQ and pregame happy hour pricing for select beers.
