AUSTIN, Texas — Editor's note: Austin and Travis County leaders announced on March 6 that SXSW has been canceled.
It may be the end of the road for "Supernatural" fans at SXSW. A previously-scheduled panel celebrating "15 Years of Fandom" for the popular CW show has been removed from the festival's schedule.
The show's stars, Austin regulars Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, were both scheduled to appear. As of Wednesday afternoon, there has been no official announcement from The CW or SXSW about the panel's cancellation and the panel still shows up when searched for online – but when you click on the link, it issues a "page not found (404)" error.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, The CW's parent company, WarnerMedia, announced earlier this week that it would restrict travel out of concern over the spread of the coronavirus. The report stated that WarnerMedia told all of its employees to cancel corporate travel, as well as organizing and attending events.
However, other WarnerMedia-affiliated SXSW sessions are still on the festival's schedule, including a panel with TBS's "Full Frontal with Samantha Bee" and a session with the creative team of HBO's "Watchmen." Warner Media's subsidiaries also still have programming on the SXSW Film Festival schedule, such as the episodic premiere of TNT's "Snowpiercer" TV show.
