AUSTIN, Texas — The weekend is here and, as always, there are a ton of things going on in the Austin area! From stand-up comedy to a race to win concert tickets, there's no shortage of fun activities happening over the next few days.

Here’s a breakdown of just some of the events you can attend this weekend.

Stand-up comedy around town

The Moontower Comedy Just for Laughs Festival is still a few months away, but Austinites can satisfy their craving for some stand-up comedy this weekend.

Comedian Jo Koy, known for his appearances on "Chelsea Lately" and his recent gig hosting the Golden Globes, will make a stop at Moody Center on Friday. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are still available.

Trevor Noah, former host of "The Daily Show," will also be in town this weekend, playing several nights at Bass Concert Hall on the University of Texas at Austin campus. Tickets are officially sold out, but hopeful comedy fans may be able to find tickets on resale sites.

Finally, Craig Robinson,  known for his appearances on a number of popular sitcoms, is playing several shows at Cap City Comedy Club this weekend. Robinson's Friday and Saturday shows are officially sold out, but there are still tickets available for his shows at 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday.

Le Garage Sale

Le Garage Sale is held twice a year and features more than 100 local and independent retailers and designers. The event says its vendors "carry the season’s on-trend designs and showcase a diverse and mindful compilation of goods for women, men, children and home." Tickets can be purchased online.

When: Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. VIP Pre Shop is from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday.

Where: Palmer Events Center, located at 900 Barton Springs Road

First Woofstock donation

It's a race to score tickets to a concert for a cause! Since 2015, Austin City Limits Radio has hosted Woofstock, a concert to support local animal shelters. But tickets aren't available in the traditional way: music fans have to make a donation to score a pair of tickets, and it's first come, first served.

Donations can be brought to one of three "Woofstops," and the first 80 people to drop off a donation at each shelter will get a pair of tickets to see Grace Potter and local artist Me Nd Adam at Buford's on Feb. 16. Donations can include anything from pet food and kitty litter to toys and blankets and beyond.

Donations can be brought to Woofstop No. 1, the Austin Animal Center, this Saturday, Jan. 27, from noon to 1 p.m. The shelter is located at 7201 Levander Loop.

The other chances to donate are:

  • Feb. 3 from noon to 1 p.m. at Austin Humane Society, located at 124 W. Anderson Lane
  • Feb. 10 from noon to 1 p.m. at the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter, located at 1855 S.E. Inner Loop in Georgetown
