AUSTIN, Texas — Alamo Drafthouse is breaking its no-ad rule to help some important causes on Valentine's Day.
From now until Feb. 7, those who purchase advance tickets for Valentine's Day screenings will have the option to purchase a $5 love note.
How it works:
- People who submit a love note will see their message on the big screen before the film starts on Valentine's Day.
- The proceeds raised from the love notes will benefit relief efforts in Australia and Puerto Rico. The funds will be split between the Australia Wildfire Relief Fund and the UNIDOS Disaster Relief & Recovery Program to support Puerto Rico.
- Those who purchase a love note will also be entered into a sweepstakes for a chance to win a free year of movies through Alamo Drafthouse's season pass membership.
