Texas Rangers' favorite band Creed will hit Austin on 2024 tour

Creed will visit Austin in November.

AUSTIN, Texas — (CultureMap Austin) Rock band Creed emerged out of the wilderness in the summer of 2023 for their first tour in 11 years, the Summer of ‘99 Tour. Now, they've extended it to the Are You Ready Tour? which will include a stop at Austin's Moody Center on Friday, November 15, 2024.

The 20 new tour dates — "due to overwhelming fan demand" — span just one month, starting in Oklahoma City on November 2. In addition to Austin, the added tour dates include Corpus Christi on November 12 and Fort Worth on November 13.

Before the most recent tour, the band had been on hiatus since 2013. Their profile has been raised significantly in Texas because their 1999 hit song "Higher" became an anthem for the Texas Rangers on their way to their first World Series appearance in 12 years.

Creed will be joined by special guests 3 Doors Down and Mammoth WVH at all three Texas dates.

The band, which formed in Tallahassee, Florida, in 1994, had only released four albums in their career when they announced the 2023 tour. In 2023, the released the compilation album Stadium Anthems. But their peak came with their sophomore album, 1999's Human Clay, which yielded hits like “Higher” and “With Arms Wide Open.”
