AUSTIN — In the live music capital of the world, the jams won't stop just because it will be as hot as Hades outside.
In fact, late spring and summer concerts in Central Texas are some of the best times to see up and coming talent, toss back a cold one, and vibe with your friends, significant other and sometimes pets, depending on the venue.

Did you think you'd have to wait until June to get the party started? Well, pish posh. Levitation, formerly known as Austin Psych Fest, is prepared to rock you to another planet starting today, April 26.
The lineup which prides itself on bringing the psychedelic heavyweights also claims to be a haven for new and developing artists "from every part of the globe" -- not just Texas.

If you dig hip hop and trap music, there's no way you can miss this rap festival that hits three of Texas's biggest cities, including Circuit of Americas in Austin, Texas.
Get ready to sip on all of the free water you can stand while you're rapping along to Migos' adlibs. But don't expect to jam out with your dog at this festival. There's a strict policy against pets -- with the exception of service animals. Read about it HERE.
UPDATE: With the announcement of Cardi B's pregnancy, the Invasion of Privacy rapper is putting shows on hold for at least a little while. Young Thug is taking her spot as the third headliner for JMBLYA 2018.

If EDM is more your scene, we know the perfect festival you'll want to make sure to attend.
But keep in mind -- this year, the usual music and camping dance festival is doing things differently. Festival organizers said they had trouble obtaining a permit for the festival at the Carson Creek Ranch for the weekend of May 11 to 12. So instead, the musicians will be playing at downtown Austin venues like Barracuda, Mohawk, Empire Control Room and Garage.
According to the Finding Euphoria, ticket holders will receive free passes to their next event at Carson Creek Ranch in addition to this year's festival.

This list wouldn't exist without this Austin summer concert staple. According to KGSR, it's the largest free concert series in the area, taking over Zilker Park for four shows. And guess what? You can bring your fur babies, friends, and blankets.
Shows typically start at 8 p.m. but don't plan on getting there on time. If you do, you might be left with a blocked off shot of the action -- which is never fun.

This summer, Bastrop will be holding its inaugural Bastrop Music Festival. The four-day event will give festival-goers the chance to explore the charming Central Texas town while enjoying more than 30 bands in multiple venues.

In Texas, country music is a given genre of music festivals. So, you really have a good number of festivals to choose from and can even base your decisions on which artists you want to see most. If time and money aren't problems -- attend a country music festival every month of the summer.
It's the 11th year for the Lone Star Jam -- the biggest Texas Country Music Festival in Central Texas. It's set to be held on the grounds of Rodeo Austin.
Plan to tap your toe and two-step for 2 days straight while you're listening to 20 red dirt and Texas Country bands.

At this Waco music festival not only will live music heal your soul, your ticket goes towards children and families in the Waco area who need healing. According to the Bowen Family Foundation website, Bowen MusicFest and the Bowen Classic golf tournament have raised $2.5 million for families in the Waco-area since 2009, and in 2017, the events raised $500,000,

It doesn't get much better than refreshing sweet treats and live music on a hot summer day in Austin. And the line up at this year's chilly festival shines a bright light on local, up-and-coming talent.

Floating down the river is already a good time on its own, but when you add in a live concert of Snoop Dogg's best hits, you might have to get off your tube and drop it like it's hot.
The two-day festival reached an agreement with the Guadalupe County Commissioners Court and has a permit to allow 20,000 people to attend this water-themed festival, with artists ranging across several genres.

This is a country music festival in the quaint town of Hutto Texas you'll want to dust off your boots and cowboy hat for, and it won't cost you an arm and a leg! The festival, presented by the official flagship station of the Texas Longhorns, already has a bumping lineup full of local Texas talent.

Closeout one of the last music festivals of the summer and celebrate Austin's live music roots at this independent festival just 10 minutes outside of downtown at Carson Creek Ranch. At Waterloo, you can enjoy the sounds of local artists while enjoying a three-day weekend of camping.
