AUSTIN, Texas — Editor's note: Austin and Travis County leaders announced on March 6 that SXSW has been canceled.
South by Southwest (SXSW) is looking for volunteers for this year's festival.
You have the opportunity to get a badge if you volunteer a minimum of 24 hours during the event.
The festival on Tuesday said it was looking for local, national or international volunteers to contribute their time and skills to various segments of SXSW 2020, including the festival’s film, music, tech and education programs.
Those interested can sign up, pick their crew and select volunteer shifts on the SXSW website, with crew and schedule selection beginning on Jan. 15. The festival said some crews fill up quickly and volunteers are encouraged to create online accounts as soon as possible.
An informal volunteer fair for those wishing to visit their crew managers in person or seek scheduling help will be held on Jan. 26 at Ballroom A of the Austin Convention Center from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
