The Longhorns face off against the Jayhawks this Saturday at DKR Stadium. This weekend The Revolution, Prince's former band, headlines Longhorn City Limits. The Holy Rollers are taking on the Rhinestone Cowgirls in the championship bout this Saturday at the Travis County Expo Center. TXRD is Austin's only full-contact, banked-track roller derby league. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the action starts at 7 p.m.
People and their dogs are traveling to Austin from all over the world to compete to be crowned the UFO World Cup champion. The dogs will compete in distance toss and catch, and freestyle. The event is happening on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Jones Brothers Park. It's a free event.
Taste and vote on food from 30 food trucks that will be competing for a $10,000 prize. The event is happening on Saturday from noon until 6 p.m. at the Austin-American Statesman property. For more information, click here.
Saturday, Oct. 19, dog lovers throughout Central Texas will be at The Little Darlin' to show off their canine's facial hair. You don't have to have a dog to join in on the fun. The Austin Facial Hair Club, The Little Darlin' and Lone Star Beer are teaming up to raise funding and awareness for Bully Ranch.
On Sunday, Oct. 20, witness a cast reunion and outdoor screening of the 1993 classic "The Sandlot." Tickets are $40 for general admission and $10 for kids. There are also VIP tickets available.
Texas-based duo Penny & Sparrow will be performing at the Paramount Theatre on Saturday at 8 p.m. The duo has announced they will be recording a live album. VIP meet-and-greet tickets are available.
