Killeen police, firefighters save boy's birthday

Aiden's 6th birthday, which fell on Mother's Day, wasn't going perfectly. His mother, who is in the Army, is deployed so she couldn't be there and nobody showed up to his party. But the Killeen Police Department and Fire Department came to the rescue!

A boy's birthday on Sunday wasn't going very well, but police officers and firefighters came to the rescue.

Aiden's sixth birthday fell on Mother's Day this year, but his mother is in the Army and is currently deployed so she couldn't be there to celebrate with him. Aiden's father, Justin Bill, decided to invite a few people over for a party to celebrate Aiden's birthday, but nobody showed up.

"My son was definitely down and upset but I couldn't let it ruin his day," Bill said. He reached out to the Killeen Police Department on their Facebook page to see if they could help out.

"Within a couple of hours, we started off with two squad cars, then a fire truck and then two more police vehicles," said Bill. "They came in after being invited in by my son and sang him 'Happy Birthday' and had some cake."

Aiden got to try on firefighter gear and sit inside of a fire truck.

"I just want everyone around here to know that we have the best men and women working for us," Bill stated.
