DENTON, Texas — "It's a Buc-ee."
"It's a beaver dude ... look at its tail, it's a beaver. It's Buc-ee the Beaver, man!"
What are the chances you'd see a beaver, the official mascot of Buc-ee's, at an actual Buc-ee's gas station?! Well, that's what happened Thursday morning for our WFAA crew as they were out gathering weather video.
In the video below, you'll see the WFAA crew of photojournalist Thomas Costley and reporter Richard Solomon pulling up to the Buc-ee's convenience store in Denton, which is located off of Interstate 35E, and they see an animal swimming in the pond nearby. Initially, they thought it was an otter. That is, until the furry animal crawled onto the bank and they saw its tail.
Buc-ee's just opened its newest location in Hillsboro, which will occupy 74,000 square feet and offer 120 fueling positions. After the opening of Buc-ee’s Hillsboro, Buc-ee’s will operate 49 stores across Texas and other southern states.
Since beginning its multi-state expansion in 2019, Buc-ee’s has opened travel centers in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, South Carolina, Tennessee, Missouri and Colorado. Buc-ee’s broke ground on the first Virginia and Mississippi locations earlier this year.
