AUSTIN, Texas — On Monday, the Austin Historic Landmark Commission will decide whether an East Austin restaurant will become an official historic landmark.
Cisco's has been serving up food to Austinites since 1953.
The building that houses Cisco's was built in 1914 on East 6th Street. Back then, it was a meat market.
Decades later, Rudy Cisneros bought the building and moved his iconic restaurant there.
The Austin Historic Landmark Commission will meet on Monday at 6 p.m. at City Hall to talk about the possible zoning change.
