AUSTIN β€” The Austin City Limits Music Festival organizers didn't bring enough air freshener to contain the funk emitting from the Tito's Handmade Vodka stage Sunday night.

The Revolution, the melodic and versatile band behind music icon Prince, drew in a massive crowd to their 6 p.m. set, with festival-goers comprising young and old. The funk, rock n' roll, R&B and pop beats moving everyone there to dance in the best way they could, lifting their fingers in the air as encouragement for the band to keep grooving.

The concert was a sing-along experience for the crowd, with the band playing many of Prince's popular hits like "When Doves Cry," "Rasberry Parade," "1999," "Let's Go Crazy," and the classic "Purple Rain."

"Purple Rain" is a well-known song by Prince fans and people well versed in 1980s music hits. So, when The Revolution asked the audience to be the lead singers as they performed the song, the crowd gleefully obliged and belted out every lyric.

The Revolution's ACL Festival set served as a pleasant reminder that Prince's music hasn't lost its allure, and fans and non-fans can't help but stop and listen when it's played.

"We will never stop celebrating this man," said one of the Revolution's band members as the melody for 1999 began.
