AUSTIN, Texas — Every week on KVUE, we feature a different child in the Texas foster care system, in hopes of helping them get adopted by a forever family.
Eric is 11 and in the 6th grade. He's a sweet and smiley boy who is very interested in and curious about the world around him. He has a lot of questions, and he likes to know how things work.
KVUE's Hannah Rucker met up with Eric at Nili's Art Studio in Cedar Park for a day of robotics. He enjoyed moving around the robots and giving them different commands.
Eric plays the cello at school and loves music.
"It can be hard because you have to practice a lot, but I like getting better at it," Eric said.
He also loves animals because he likes taking care of things.
"They're so sweet and cuddly," Eric said. "I love dogs and cats."
Eric is eager to find a forever family to support him and comfort him through his middle school years.
"I just want a mom and a dad and a little brother and maybe going to football practice and going to football games," Eric said.
He also loves sneakers and finding different shoes to wear.
"My dream is to get some Jordans someday," Eric said.
He also wants to find a family that will help him properly care for his curly hair.

KVUE launched the Forever Families segment with Partnerships for Children (PFC) in June 2020 to highlight children in the Heart Gallery of Central Texas who need secure and permanent families. Every day, there are nearly 1,000 children waiting to get adopted in Central Texas, according to PFC.
