Return of the Mac (and Grilled Cheese) Festival

The festival celebrating all things warm, gooey and cheesy is back for its seventh year.

AUSTIN, Texas — Get ready for some warm, gooey goodness! The Austin Mac & Grilled Cheese Festival is returning for its seventh year.

The all-you-can-eat feast features southern cuisine from local food trucks and chefs, including Black's Barbecue, Cover 3, TLC Austin and Don's BBQ, just to name a few. Grilled cheeses will once again also be part of the competition, and you get to help vote for the winners.

"It's gotten more complex and more interesting every year because chefs come up with all types of concoctions and recipes for mac and cheese. And just when you think you've seen it all every year, somebody surprise you with something else," organizer Hayden Walker said.

The festival will be held Sunday, Nov. 19, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Lantana Place shopping center on Southwest Parkway. Tickets are $50 for adults and $25 for kids, and they include food and drinks.
