AUSTIN — Depending on who you ask, it's official: Austin is one of America's best food cities.
Zagat, a national restaurant review guide, ranked Austin as the 2nd most exciting food city in America, beating out everyone except for Los Angeles.
The list cited the gaining momentum of Austin's food scene, and how 2017 proved that Austin is more "here to stay" than "up and coming." New Austin restaurants June's and Kemuri Tatsu-ya received rave reviews while multiple local chefs were nominated or won awards.
The expansion of established hospitality groups and chefs breaking out on their own also helped Austin earn its place.
