French Quarter Grille brings New Orleans-inspired Cajun food to Austin

In addition to all kinds of Cajun items on the menu, French Quarter Grille offers some of the tastiest seafood dishes around and a fantastic wine list.

AUSTIN, Texas — This week we begin our "Lent friendly" series of Foodie Friday stories at French Quarter Grille in North Austin.

In addition to all kinds of Cajun items on the menu, French Quarter Grille offers some of the tastiest seafood dishes around and a fantastic wine list.

Partners Dave Gore and Scott Stolle have a passion for the restaurant business that goes back 15 years to their time working together at Gumbo's in Austin.

The stuffed catfish is bursting with flavor. Gore, who leads the kitchen, stuffs the catfish with bell peppers and celery among other fresh ingredients. It's then blackened on the flat top and finished in the oven in butter. It's served with a creole tomato cream sauce.

Another fan favorite is the fried shrimp, which you'll find on the lunch menu. The shrimp are served with some of the best mashed potatoes you'll find in the Austin area.

The great thing about the French Quarter Grille is that items that appear on either the lunch or dinner menu are available at any time of the day.

You can find the French Quarter Grille on the southbound side of I-35 in North Austin, just north of Parmer Lane. For more information about this tasty restaurant, click here.
