AUSTIN, Texas — I scream. You scream. We all scream for locally sourced, in-season ice cream.
The co-owners of Lick Honest Ice Creams, Chad and Anthony, dreamed of bringing a local ice cream shop to Texas. And eight years and three additional stores later, it seems to have worked out.
'Dark Chocolate, Olive Oil, and Sea Salt', 'Roasted Beets and Fresh Mint', and 'Goat Cheese, Thyme and Honey' are a few of the flavors you can find all year long at Lick Honest Ice Creams. Each of the flavors features ingredients that you wouldn't have to travel too far to get for yourself.
The beets come from Johnson's Backyard Garden in Austin. Texas Olive Ranch provides the olive oil. The goat cheese can be found from Pure Luck Farm and Dairy located in Dripping Springs.
On April 4, Lick Honest Ice Creams will be releasing two new spring flavors. 'Spring Malt 'Mallow' includes marshmallows colored with plant-based pigments that are sprinkled into their malted sweet cream ice cream. 'Peanut Fudge Swirl' features roasted, salted Texas peanuts from Seminole, Texas and a rich fudge sauce swirl through creamy peanut butter ice cream.
